It has been a long, long time...

Thu Feb 5, 2009, 11:57 AM
Things have been quite busy lately and I have not done a lot of the render stuff at all. I have been writing though, just little pieces here and there. I may post them here eventually. Not my best work but creative nonetheless.

Roller derby eats into a lot of my time now that I am on a team and kicking butt. Plus my return to online gaming, that has eaten up a lot of time too. And dating and a half dozen other things.

Hope that everyone is doing well. Thanks to those who have stopped by and/or faved my little collection here.

Bout time....

I know that I have not been overly active lately. Real life keeps getting busier and busier. Roller derby has gone from something I like to watch to something I like to do. Practice has been toughening me up and stripping off some of the extra flubber I had put around the middle. Still not officially on a team yet but I love the women that I practice with right now, they are very nice and can kick butt out on the track.

3D wise, I am cutting back on what I purchase. Really hoping that will push me to sit down and learn the modeling programs I have installed (Hexagon, Blender (linux), AOI (linux), and also work on postwork and textures.

6 more payments until my car is paid for, finally and almost a full year ahead of time. Which makes this the longest I have ever paid for a car (the last two I paid off 18+ months ahead of schedule).

I am also doing community work and on a Board for a soon to be non-profit. Should also start working as a peer counselor with another non profit. PLUS have been asked to go on the road a bit to snap some boxing photos.

Somewhere in the middle of it all are a few major relationships and something called work that almost pays for all of this.

Back, sort of

Wed Jun 25, 2008, 8:29 AM
I have been slowly adjusting to being back in the States. leaving for a foreign land for almost a month has really made me appreciate what I have in my life here.

Thailand had a lot of culture and a lot of pollution. The hotel had signs in the bathrooms saying that the water supplied was not fit for human consumption. It took almost a week before I could spend any appreciable amount of time outside in the larger cities like Bangkok.

What was crazy was the driving in Bangkok. The lanes were basically a suggestion and it was not unusual for a lot of swerving and even going against the flow to happen. Near the sky train the police enforced pretty heavily. Elsewhere, it was like the wild west of driving. Add to the mix a bunch of scooters and motorcycles swerving in and out and it makes for some interesting times.

Going away

Wed Apr 9, 2008, 5:59 AM
At the end of the month I head out on holiday and then will have some surgery right after. Therefore, I will not be around much this month or next. However, I hope to make a strong return in June.

A big thank you to all of those who stop by here to see what I have been working on and all of you who have chosen a favourite or three. :)
